Could Flyers and Senators Be Trading Partners?
ALLENTOWN, PA -- With the NHL's trade deadline rapidly approaching, a closer eye is kept on the scouts who regularly attend NHL and AHL games throughout the season.
An "interesting" development tonight has revealed that in addition to the Ottawa Senators having one scout at tonight's Lehigh Valley Phantoms game - which by itself is hardly interesting - there are also two Ottawa Senators scouts listed at tonight's Philadelphia Flyers/Boston Bruins game.
While it could be purely coincidental, or the Senators are actually scouting the Bruins for a potential trade, remains to be seen.
The fact that the Flyers don't face Ottawa again March 11th, and the Phantoms completed their regular season series with the Sens' AHL affiliate in Belleville back on December 14th makes the three scouts scouting the Flyers organization's games tonight something worth keeping an eye on.
It's also worth noting that Ottawa isn't a "regular" team scouting games in Allentown this season.
Is something in the works here? Or is it just extra scouting league-wide for teams and purely a coincidence that there's an Ottawa presence at the Flyers and Phantoms games tonight.
