GAMEDAY: Game 14 - Charlotte (11-3-0) at Lehigh Valley (7-4-2) 7:15 p.m. ET
ALLENTOWN, PA - The Lehigh Valley Phantoms (7-4-2) look to rebound and overcome Saturday night's loss to Charlotte with a rematch against the Atlantic Division leading Checkers (11-3-0) Wednesday night at the PPL Center in downtown Allentown, PA. Puck drop is expected at 7:15 p.m. ET.
Lehigh Valley Phantoms Roster Notes
Carter Hart is expected to get the start in net for Lehigh Valley Wednesday night. Alex Lyon got the start in the team's last game on Saturday, and Anthony Stolarz has been nothing more than a backup goalie to either Lyon or Hart since his lone start in the team's third game of the season over one month ago.
Tyrell Goulbourne was assessed a two-game suspension following his slew-foot late in the third period of Saturday's loss to Charlotte. He will miss tonight's game vs. Charlotte as well as Friday's game in Providence.
German Rubtsov, who missed Saturday night's game, is expected to return to the lineup this week - and could be in tonight's lineup.

GAME STORY
FIRST PERIOD
The Phantoms found themselves on the penalty kill just 95 seconds into the contest after Mikhail Vorobyev was whistled for tripping in the neutral zone. Carter Hart stopped all five Checkers' shots on the ensuing power play, but a T.J. Brennan turnover along the boards shortly after the penalty expired gave Charlotte a quick counter-attack and the game's opening goal.
Brennan tried to nudge a puck up the wall for Connor Bunnaman, and the pass didn't connect - hopping over Bunnaman's stick and right onto the tape of Dennis Robertson at the right point. Robertson quickly got the puck down low to Andrew Poturalski who was all alone and able to glide across the crease and put one past Hart at the 4:22 mark.
Lehigh Valley had some shifts with offensive pressure, namely the top line trio of Carey-Varone-Bardreau toward the middle of the period - with Bardreau drawing a slashing minor on Greg McKegg to give the Phantoms their first power play of the night.
Unable to capitalize, the Checkers gained some momentum from killing off the McKegg minor and got back to buzzing around Hart's net - getting several good looks at the Phantoms' goalie but the highly touted rookie stood tall to keep his team in a one-goal game - stopping 15 of 16 shots in the opening 20 minutes of play.
SECOND PERIOD
Hart was again busy to start the middle frame, as Charlotte had control of the puck and possession in the Phantoms' defensive zone early and often to begin the second period. It seemed like the Phantoms were content in packing it in tight in the defensive zone and keeping the Checkers to the outside. A bend, but don't break approach that yielded early success.
The Phantoms had a chance to swing momentum back into their favor when Dan Renouf was whistled for an elbowing minor on Mike Vecchione in the slot, but were unable to capitalize on the opportunity. Despite not being able to score on the power play, Lehigh Valley started to get in on the attack more and it caused the Checkers to take penalties.
First, an unwise offensive zone penalty for boarding by Checkers' forward Valentin Zykov gave the Phantoms another crack at the man advantage. This time, they'd convert.
Greg Carey faked a shot at the center point, and got it to his left for T.J. Brennan. Brennan spotted Phil Varone at the net-front and launched a slap shot "pass" that Varone was able to tap in past Nedeljkovic to tie the game at 1-1 with 8:58 left in the middle frame.
Not long after Varone's fifth of the season, the Checkers were back in the penalty box - giving the Phantoms an opportunity to take the lead.
On a bit of a broken play, Mike Vecchione's shot on Nedeljkovic ended up along the half-wall where Mikhail Vorobyev was able to fling a bad angle shot on an empty short-side of the net and give the Phantoms their first lead of the night with 5:53 left before the second intermission on their second goal in as many power play opportunities.
THIRD PERIOD
After the teams combined for three penalties in the opening 3:47 of the period, the Phantoms and Checkers settled in to grind it out in the final 16-plus minutes of a 2-1 game.
Hart was equal to the task early in the period on a pair of brief Checkers' power plays to keep his team in front 2-1.
Cole Bardreau was hooked on a breakaway with 11:21 left in regulation and given a penalty shot, but the scrappy forward was denied by a blocker save by Nedeljkovic to keep the contest a one-goal game.
The Phantoms had a golden opportunity to seal the deal with 1:34 of five-on-three power play time with 8:12 left in regulation, but were unable to extend their lead.
Instead, it was Charlotte scoring a goal and tying the game at 2-2 not long after the Phantoms' two-man advantage expired as Jake Bean got a puck to Julien Gauthier for a quick shot past Hart with 5:18 remaining in regulation.
OVERTIME
The Phantoms controlled the 3-on-3 session, nearly ending the game on several occasions where odd-man rushes led to a shot that just missed the mark.
An interesting sequence led to the game-winning goal tonight with two Phantoms' players changing at the same time in the neutral zone, leaving Vorobyev by himself to defend a 2-on-1 rush against.
Luckily for Vorobyev and the Phantoms, Charlotte's attempt to pass across on the 2-on-1 hit Vorobyev's skate and allowed him to float the puck up ice for his two teammates waiting in the neutral zone for a 2-on-1 the other way.
Brennan got the puck on the right wing, came up the ice and fired one past Nedeljkovic to give the Phantoms the 3-2 win.
