Season/Home Opener: Saturday, October 5, 2019 - 7:00 PM - Hershey hosts in-state rival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for the first of 12 games.
Longest Home Stand: “I’ll be home for Christmas” - The Bears have a season high six home games from December 7-22. In that time, they will play host to Lehigh Valley twice (December 7 and 15), Wilkes-Barre/Scranton once (December 8), Bridgeport once (December 14), and Springfield twice (December 21 and 22).
Longest Road Trip: Hershey has a pair of four-game road trips earlier in the season, but they find themselves Road Warriors from March 31-April 10, right at the end of the season. They will be in Cleveland March 31 and April 2, Charlotte April 4 and 5, and Binghamton April 10.
HOLIDAY GAMES
There is NO Super Sunday (SuperBowl Sunday) game this year, but the AHL did give the Bears their Thanksgiving Eve game back!
November 27 (Thanksgiving Eve) - Hershey hosts Providence which will be a 7:00 start...look for a Turkey Shoot Night when the Promotions are released!
February 29 (Leap Day) - This is a first in awhile - Hershey hosts Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at 7:00. The last time Hershey hosted a Leap Day game was 2004.
April 11 (Easter Eve) - The season finale will more than likely double as Ham Shoot Night once Promotions are released. This game will be Cleveland’s second trip to the Giant Center and is a typical Hershey 7:00 start.
OTHER
November 15 and 16 - Reigning Calder Cup Champs, Charlotte will be in town for the first time this season. They will look a bit different as they’ve lost many pieces and will have a new head coach, Ryan Warsofsky, former coach of the South Carolina Stingrays.
November 30 - Hershey hosts former Head Coach Troy Mann and his Belleville club at 7:00. It is Mann’s second season away from Hershey.
‘THREE-IN-THREES’
The Bears have a total of EIGHT three-in-threes this season. The Bears historically have had one of the highest numbers of three-in-threes in the league. While it takes some players a bit of time to adjust and NHL’ers often comment about being glad they didn’t have them at hockey’s highest level, they are often fun for out-of-town fans. BUT, nobody likes the home/road combos in three-in-threes!
2018-2019 = 10 three-in-threes 2017-2018 = 11 three-in-threes 2016-2017 = 14 three-in-threes
November 1 at Springfield, November 2 vs. Providence, and November 3 vs. Syracuse November 8 at Hartford, November 9 at Lehigh Valley, and November 10 vs. Lehigh Valley December 6 at Lehigh Valley, December 7 vs. Lehigh Valley, and December 8 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton December 27 at Utica, December 28 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, and December 29 at Lehigh Valley January 3 at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, January 4 vs. Bridgeport, and January 5 vs. Bridgeport February 7 at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, February 8 vs. Springfield, February 9 at Lehigh Valley February 14 at Binghamton, February 15 vs. Binghamton, and February 16 vs. Lehigh Valley March 6 at Hartford, March 7 at Hartford, and March 8 at Providence
