Yesterday, we unveiled our annual AHL Free Agent Tracker 2023 (Version 1.0) with our largest tracking summer yet! Nearly 400 players in this off-season's tracker, complete with their respective AHL stats from the 2022-23 season.

New this year in our subscriber-only 2.0 versions of our AHL Free Agency coverage, we've added which skaters are considered veterans by AHL standards (more than 320 pro games) and a special "Veteran-Extra' notation for players that will enter 2023-24 with more than 260 pro games of experience but less than 320 pro games.
Remember the AHL's Development rule, which states "Of the eighteen (18) skaters (not counting two goaltenders) that teams may dress for a game, at least thirteen (13) must be qualified as 'development players' Of those 13, twelve (12) must have played in 260 or fewer professional games (including AHL, NHL and European elite leagues), and one must have played in 320 or fewer professional games. All calculations for development status are based on regular-season totals as of the start of the season."
Another cool feature we're rolling out this year for subscribers in our Big Board 2.0 is positional usage for each of the top 35 defensemen and 50 forwards thanks to a collaboration with Caley Middleton (you probably know Caley on Twitter @CcCMiddleton tracking AHL and NHL lines and defense pairings - a tedious and thankless task)
