POST-GAME REACTION
Head coach Kerry Huffman
On tonight's performance, the big win:
I thought it was real solid. We had been playing some decent games lately and hadn't been rewarded with goals or made some key mistakes, but tonight we didn't have that. It was a pretty good game by everyone.
On scoring first, setting the tone early:
I think any time you play on the road it's really important if you want to make sure you're in the game and put a little pressure on the home team. And I thought we did that.
On Laberge getting his 1st goal
I think the goal came from doing the right things. He's really been working hard all year in terms of getting back to play. But in these few games he's played I thought he's competed really hard and been engaged and made some good plays getting the puck out of his own zone. When you're playing the right way all of a sudden you're standing at the side of the net with a wide open net. He got rewarded. so its good for him.
On if it was being more focused tonight"
I think what we are starting to see now is that we've got the ability to keep some lines together and they are starting to read and feel off of one another. We didn't have that for the whatever, 60 days we went through what we went through.
On winning the first of the 6 remaining games against the Penguins, getting the loss in their head
It's one of those series where we're playing them 12 times. There's going to be times they are better than us, and times we are going to be better than them. It's just a matter of trying to bear down in these remaining games in the stretch - every game is a little bit like a playoff game so that's the way we have to approach it.
