Phantoms' Teddy Bear Toss Night 2021

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Lehigh Valley Phantoms held their seventh annual Teddy Bear Toss Night Saturday against the Cleveland Monsters, and it was an overwhelming success.

Gerry Mayhew opened the scoring in the first period, giving the Phantoms a 1-0 lead and sending the thousands of stuffed animals and toys onto the ice. After a 12-minute delay to collect all of the toys and remove them from the playing surface, the Phantoms powered their way in the third period to a 4-2 victory to snap an eight-game winless skid.

All of the stuffed animals will be counted and donated to Valley Youth House for distribution to children across the Lehigh Valley.

Phantoms Teddy Bear Toss History

Over the past eight seasons, the Phantoms have collected and donated over 35,000 stuffed animals:

Through seven Teddy Bear Toss games, Lehigh Valley has seen seven different players send stuffed animals onto the ice, with all but the inaugural event occurring in the first period:
