Clark's addition expands Inside AHL Hockey's coverage of the AHL's Western Conference
When the state of Arizona added another level of professional hockey I knew I had to be a part of it. Born and raised in Arizona, the Coyotes were the only level of hockey I had experienced. Then, last season the AHL added the Tucson Roadrunners and I had the opportunity to cover them for SB Nation’s Five for Howling.*
Heading into this season I knew that I wanted to take my coverage to the next level. That’s where Tony and Inside AHL Hockey came in.
The staff at Inside AHL Hockey get it. The AHL is such a special league and I’m so honored to be able to report alongside others who are working to bring our audience the best reporting possible.
Last season was something special. I got to witness the inaugural season of a franchise. I got to watch Brendan Perlini, who had seriously struggled in juniors, work himself into a regular role on the Arizona Coyotes. I got to work with Christian Fischer and Kyle Wood, who were voted to the All-Star Game. I got to see the finals days of Zybnek Michalek’s career.
Unfortunately I also got a front row seat to Craig Cunningham’s misfortune. I’ve always said that hockey brings people together, and nothing showed that more than how the AHL community rallied around Cunningham last year.
The point to mentioning all of that is that those are the stories I want to tell, and bring to Inside AHL Hockey. Stories that matter.
So who exactly am I? Well, at a base level I’m a multimedia journalist finishing my last semester of college.
But more in-depth my name is Taylor Sedona Clark and my goal is to always tell the stories of athletes. Over the past two years I’ve traveled and worked credentialed for the AHL, NHL, NWHL, and CWHL. You might have seen my work on Five for Howling, Fox Sports or in USA Hockey magazine. In my spare time I also spend a lot of time with ASU Women’s Hockey team as hockey in the Valley continues to grow. For Inside AHL Hockey I will be contributing regular Tucson Roadrunners coverage, as well as coverage of the Western Conference teams.
This coverage opportunity is one I have worked for and I’m excited to continue to build on what Tony has here.
I’ll leave you all with this: the AHL is an ever-shifting landscape that produces some tremendous stories. So I hope you subscribe and let us share those stories with you.
