@Sasquatch856 on Twitter -> What do you think is the likelihood of seeing at least one of Hagg, Morin, Sanheim, Myers start the season with the Flyers?
With Shayne Gostisbhere, Radko Gudas, Andrew MacDonald, Brandon Manning and Ivan Provorov all NHL locks for Philadelphia this season, there appears to be plenty of room for the younger blue liners waiting in the wings in the system.
I think it's fair to say - with five signed defensemen at the NHL level for Philly currently - that it's all but guaranteed that at least one of Hagg, Morin, Myers or Sanheim starts the season in the NHL. In fact, if the Flyers don't commit another contract to an NHL-level defenseman I'd say it's likely that two of those four will begin the year in Philadelphia.
@Symyro on Twitter -> What's the likelihood of Ivan Kosorenkov getting an entry-level contract (ELC)?
Getting an invite to Flyers rookie camp means the Flyers get an extra look at Kosorenkov in next Wednesday's prospect scrimmage against the New York Islanders. Stating the obvious with this, but a strong showing in a game-like situation against his peers migtht be enough to warrant an entry-level contract.
The Flyers currently have 46 contracts of their 50-max according to CapFriendly, and that's after some of their contracts 'slide' meaning they don't count against the 50 allowed per organization. Kosorenkov's potential contract wouldn't count against the Flyers' 50-max this season when he returns to the QMJHL, but something to consider down the road when wanting some wiggle room to sign prospects/roster players.
